The transfer tussle between Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain for Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria could be coming to a conclusion, with the Express reporting that the Ligue 1 club are set to blow their rivals out of the water with a huge £63 million bid.

The Argentine international surprisingly seems to have become surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu this summer, perhaps due to the signing of James Rodriguez from AS Monaco, although only if Carlo Ancelotti’s side are offered a huge sum for the winger.

Di Maria was the decisive performer in the Champions League final victory over local rivals Atletico Madrid, despite Gareth Bale scoring the winning goal, and would be likely to be a fine addition to any team.

United have been linked with a swoop for Di Maria, as new manager Louis van Gaal looks to secure a genuine marquee signing to compliment Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, but it is unlikely that the Red Devils can match PSG financially, whilst the French side can also offer Champions League football.

A £63m move for Di Maria would almost certainly leave PSG breaching financial fair play rules, meaning that they could be forced to sell players, but the French club have thus far shown little willingness to curb their spending.
