Manchester United are set to make one final attempt to prize Arturo Vidal away from Juventus, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Italian giants are bracing themselves for a £48m offer.

The Mirror has revealed that sources in Italy, are suggesting that the Old Trafford club will also offer to double the Chilean’s wages.

Gazetta Dello Sport says the player’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, will approach the Italian club this week with news of renewed interest from the Premier League side.

Vidal seemingly ruled out a move away last week, when he told reporters that he would not be moving to Manchester this summer, but United will make one final attempt to secure the deal, with a €60m bid for Vidal, who in turn will be offered a four-year contract worth around £6m per annum.

The Italian news provider claims the temptation of a huge contract from the club could tempt the 27-year-old midfielder away from Juventus, who would have to match the pay packet offered by Old Trafford if they are to have any chance of keeping him.

United manager Louis van Gaal is desperate to continue bolstering his squad ahead of the new season, and would like to add more than midfielder Ander Herrera and full-back Luke Shaw in order to prepare his team for a title challenge.
