Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is set to hold showdown talks with his manager Massmiliano Allegri and managing director Beppe Marotta today after being targeted by Manchester United, according to talkSPORT.

The Chilean star has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and there have been reports of the Red Devils making an improved offer of around £47m for the 27-year-old today, with the hope of pushing a move through in the near future.

Juventus are no doubt keen to hold on to one of their best players, who has proved instrumental in the club’s recent domestic success, with Juve winning three Serie A titles in each of his three seasons in Turin.

It is thought that Vidal will meet with Juventus to request a transfer, though it remains to be seen what the outcome of the planned meeting will be, as United hope to bag one of their main transfer targets.

Louis van Gaal’s side have also been linked with Toni Kroos in recent months, though the German World Cup winner eventually opted to sign for Real Madrid after leaving Bayern Munich.

Vidal has also been linked with Liverpool in this transfer window.
