Rapidly disintegrating Southampton look set to lose another player – although this time it seems as though the Saints will at least get a man in return, with reports from the Southern Daily Echo suggesting that striker Dani Osvaldo is set to join Inter Milan, with midfielder Saphir Taider coming in the other direction.

The deal is set to see both players move on season-long loan deals – although Southampton are unlikely to feel the loss of Osvaldo as keenly as with other players who have departed this summer, having spent the final months of last season on loan at Juventus.

Osvaldo was hailed as a major signing for the Saints when Mauricio Pochettino lured him from AS Roma but, like fellow Serie A capture Gaston Ramirez, he has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League.

A deal for Taider would potentially see Saints getting the better end of the deal, with the 22 year-old Algerian having impressed with his performances for the Desert Foxes at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The former Grenoble and Bologna man has been on the fringes of the Inter Milan first team in Serie A, but would be likely to be seen as a potential replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin at St. Mary’s, with the Frenchman moving ever closer to joining Tottenham Hotspur.
