Arsenal Manager Hints At Move For £20m Chelsea Target Sami Khedira

Wenger could still sign the Madrid midfielder.

Arsene Wenger has hinted that Arsenal could make a move for Chelsea target and Real Madrid contract rebel Sami Khedira this summer.

The 64-year-old admitted that more deals would be done by the Gunners before the transfer window closes and whilst Wenger ruled out moves for AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli and Juan Quintero of FC Porto, he refused to comment on Khedira.

“Like Balotelli was all wrong. We do not master all the noises that come out. You can never say never. But we are not on the case,” the Frenchman was quoted by the Mirror.

“Sami Khedira? I don’t want to give you any names but at this moment we’re not after anybody.”

It’s well know that Wenger is on the search for a defensive midfielder to act as support for the more attacking nature of Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere in the centre of the park.

As the Daily Mail reports both the North Londoners and their rivals the Blues are keen on landing Khedira, who has entered the final year of his current contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

It’s for this reason that Los Blancos are expected to be open to selling the 2014 World Cup winner, who is thought to be available for around £20m.
