Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani admits he would welcome the signing of Angel Di Maria at the French giants, according to Marca.

The Ligue 1 champions have been strongly linked with a move for the Real Madrid winger, who is reportedly valued at around £47m and is set to be made available this summer following Real’s signing of James Rodriguez from AS Monaco.

Manchester United have also shown a strong interest in the Argentine international, who had a highly impressive season for Madrid last season, with 11 goals and 26 assists in all competitions to help guide the club to a Champions League and Copa del Rey double.

Still, he no longer appears to be in the club’s plans for next season, and PSG are being tipped as the favourites to win the race for his signature, with one of their star players Cavani expressing his joy at a potential deal.

“We are always looking to add new elements to the team,” he said. “Angel di Maria is quality. He would be welcomed in Paris.”

The Uruguayan striker’s own future has come under some doubt this summer, with United also thought to be looking at him as an option in the transfer market, but he was keen to commit his future to PSG, saying he is happy with life at the Parc des Princes.

“I feel great here and I am sure that I will stay in Paris. I’m fine and have a contract,” he added.
