Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has set his sights on two more signings before the start of the new season, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan giants have spent big already this summer on the likes of Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic, but are looking for two more essential additions to their squad as the club look to get back on track in 2014/15 after a trophyless campaign last term.

Defence has been a priority for Barcelona after some unconvincing displays at the back last season, and it looks as though Paris Saint-Germain youngster Marquinhos is a priority signing in that position, with rumoured targets such as Mats Hummels and Jan Vertonghen now thought to be off the agenda.

Arsenal centre-back Thomas Vermaelen would be the club’s second choice in that position, but Enrique will use Javier Mascherano in that role if he cannot land his other targets this summer.

Marquinhos would likely cost around £32m, while a further £30m looks likely to go on Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, with the Colombian winger likely to be brought in to play as a wing-back in a new-look 3-5-2 formation.

Manchester United have also been linked with the 26-year-old, but Barca are desperate to win the race for his signature in this transfer window.
