Barcelona are reportedly set to scupper Manchester United’s bid to sign £30m-rated Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, according to the Daily Express.

The 26-year-old was one of the stars of Serie A last season, catching the eye of a number of top clubs after his superb displays for La Viola, and later for his national side Colombia at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

A versatile wide-player who can operate on either flank or at wing-back, Cuadrado is seemingly a perfect fit for new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, who has been tipped to switch to a 3-5-2 formation this season after taking charge at the Nou Camp.

United are also exploring new options on the flanks in the transfer market this summer, with the likes of Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria being linked with the club, though that move may prove unsuccessful as Paris Saint-Germain lead the chase for the player.

They may miss out on Cuadrado too, however, with Barcelona currently being tipped to sign the highly-rated South American sensation, making him the latest exciting signing for the Catalan giants this summer.

Barca have spent big on the likes of Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic as they look to rebuild after a trophyless season in 2013/14.
