Southampton could be set to sensationally end their summer of woe with a £70m spending spree with the money brought in from their countless player sales, according to the Daily Mail.

The Saints are lining up a triple raid on Manchester United as part of this quest to bring in replacements for their departed stars, with Javier Hernandez, Ashley Young and Wilfried Zaha believed to be their main targets.

Since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s new manager, Ronald Koeman has seen big names such as Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren leave the club, as well as star youngster Luke Shaw, who went to United in a £30m move.

However, Koeman now looks set to enjoy the chance to reinvest this cash, and will look to some of the squad players at Old Trafford to come in and bolster his squad.

Hernandez has been linked with several clubs this summer after falling out of favour at Old Trafford in recent times, while the likes of Young and Zaha also face a fight for a first-team place after failing to convince in their careers with the club so far, despite some improved form in pre-season.
