Having secured the £10m signing of Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster on Saturday evening, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is keen to bring more new faces to St. Mary’s, report the Telegraph, with Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez still very much on Koeman’s wishlist.

The Mexican, who has been in and around the first team during United’s tour of the USA, is behind Wayne Rooney and Robin van Perisue in the pecking order for a starting place at Old Trafford and may be tempted to move on, although a move for Hernandez would be an audacious one.

Serie A giants Inter Milan have also been linked with a move for Hernandez, who may choose to leave Old Trafford in search of consistent first team football during the 2014/15 campaign.

Koeman is in desperate need of striking options, with Rickie Lambert having been sold and Dani Osvaldo having been allowed to leave the club – ironically to the San Siro.

This leaves him with just new signing Graziano Pelle, signed from Feyenoord, erratic Zambian Emmanuel Mayuka, who has returned from a loan spell in Ligue 1 with Sochaux, and teenager Sam Gallagher, as Billy Sharp is unlikely to be considered for selection in the Premier League.
