Barcelona are considering a surprise move for Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker as they seek a replacement for Dani Alves, according to the Daily Mail.

The Catalan giants are known to be keen on replacing the Brazilian international, with Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado eyed up as their main target to come in and play as right-sided wing-back in a 3-5-2 formation under new manager Luis Enrique.

However, with Manchester United also known to be interested in the Colombian international to play a similar role in their side this season, it could be that Barca will look to Walker as one of their other potential targets, though he is not thought to be high on their list of options.

The 24-year-old England international made a great start to life at White Hart Lane as a youngster, looking like one of the most promising young players in the Premier League, but he has not really been at his best since then, becoming known for being somewhat inconsistent and ignoring his defensive duties.

Still, Walker remains a great talent going forward, possessing great pace and dribbling skills, as well as a fierce long range shot, perhaps making him the ideal player to play as a wing-back.
