Leicester City are ready to break their transfer record for a second time this summer as they pursue Watford striker Troy Deeney according to the Daily Express.

King Power Stadium boss Nigel Pearson has already failed with a £7.5m offer for the 26 year old but is ready to stump up £10m if necessary, having already spent £8m to bring in Brighton forward Leonardo Ulloa.

Pearson may well feel his attack is in need of reinforcements if they are to stand any chance to retaining their Premier League status and Deeney has certainly proven himself in the Championship, 45 goals 91 appearances over the course of the last two seasons and also netted in Watford’s opening win of the current campaign.

The Foxes have brought in a number of new additions this summer including experienced Premier League stars Matthew Upson and Marc Albrighton and could need to invest a fair bit to beat the drop.
