Van Gaal appears to be keen on landing a ‘Marquee’ signing this summer having already completed deals to bring in Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw from Athletic Bilbao and Southampton respectively.

The Mexican managed just six Premier League starts last term but his overall record of 59 goals in 152 appearances, 69 of those from the bench, indicates that the Man United man knows exactly where the back of the net is.
