Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure will not be offered an extension on his £200,000 per week contract, report the Mail, despite the plethora of City stars to have been given new deals by the Premier League champions this summer.

Toure was integral to City’s Premier League title last season, scoring the most goals of any Premier League midfielder and generally offering a driving force and attacking thrust from the centre of the park for Manuel Pellegrini.

Despite Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, Aleksander Kolarov, David Silva and Samir Nasri all already having penned new deals this summer, and Joe Hart and Edin Dzeko expected to follow suit, however, there will be no new deal on the table for the Ivorian.

Whether this is related to Toure’s unsettled summer remains to be seen, with the former Barcelona man reportedly upset with the manner in which City officials celebrated his birthday back in May.

Toure is, however, just 14 months into his current deal which doesn’t expire until 2017, which may explain the hesitancy from City to tie him down even longer – although it could fuel speculation that his long term future lies away from Eastlands.
