White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino would do well to bring in a striker signing this summer given the poor debut seasons both Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado endured last term and 23 year old Destro is a very useful option to consider.
The Italian international finished as the top scorer at the Stadio Olimpico last term, netting 13 Serie A goal despite only starting 14 fixtures, but is now a player boss Rudi Garcia is looking to sell in order to boost his transfer fund pot.
AS Roma want £18m for Destro, who is also being pursued by Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, and that’s a decent price for a player of obvious ability and clear potential.
Pochettino has worked to improve his side’s back-line by signing young defender Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon as well as Swansea City duo Michel Vorm and Ben Davies and would do well to invest in a player or two in order to improve his options in the final third.
