Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Morgan Schneiderlin has accepted that he will not be leaving the Saints, report the Telegraph, with manager Ronald Koeman suggesting that the French international will be available for selection when he takes his team to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon to kick off their Premier League campaign.

Schneiderlin has been linked with a move to join up with former manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane for much of the summer, but Koeman and Southampton have been reluctant to lose any more key players after already selling Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers and Dejan Lovren to other Premier League clubs this summer.

Koeman may still deem that Schneiderlin’s pre-season has not got him into the correct physical shape to feature at Anfield, although the fact that he seems to be mentally ready to turn out in a red and white shirt once again will please the club’s supporters.

Spurs are believed to have offered around £10m for Schneiderlin, a fee that is unlikely to tempt the Saints to sell, considering the much larger fees they received for the likes of Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren, with Schneiderlin arguably being even more important to the side than that duo.
