Man United and Napoli have reportedly agreed a deal that will see Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini move to the Serie A side this summer according to the Daily Express.

The Old Trafford side forked out a massive £27.5m for the Everton man a year ago but will now accept a £4m fee that the Naples side will foot to take Fellaini on an initial loan deal for the 2014/15 season.

Fellaini had the chance to impress Louis van Gaal on the weekend when he was brought on as a sub during Man United’s opening day defeat to Swansea City but has seemingly failed to salvage his career at the club.

Former boss David Moyes often used Fellaini in an unfamiliar holding midfield role last term and this certainly didn’t help matters as the 26 year old put in a series of abject displays last term.

In many ways Fellaini became something of a scapegoat for last season’s failings and a move away may be best for all concerned.

Ironically Fellaini will at least be able to compete at Champions League level if he does move to Florence.
