The 28 year old South American is apparently Brendan Rodgers’ first choice as a replacement for Luis Suarez, who of course left to join Barcelona earlier this summer, but one wonders if the Anfield side are likely to pull off such a transfer.

One bid from the Merseyside outfit has already been turned down and Liverpool are not the only club chasing Falcao, with both Real Madrid and Juventus keeping tabs on the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid man.

Falcao has scored goals wherever he’s pitched up, netting 72 goals in two seasons in Portugal and 70 goals in 91 appearances in Spain.

The powerful forward netted 11 goals in 19 appearances before he was sidelined with a knee injury last January that ruled him out of the World Cup finals.

Falcao has returned to full fitness this term and netted in his opening Ligue 1 fixture.

Rodgers has signed Rickie Lambert from Southampton to act as support to Daniel Sturridge though it’s clear more reinforcements are necessary if Liverpool are to mount another Premier League title challenge.
