Man United are reportedly closing in on deals to sign two top targets according to The Sun.

Louis van Gaal has lined up a club record £50m bid for Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria and the chances of landing the 26 year old has significantly increased after the player was told he can leave the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has publicly revealed that di Maria is free to pursue a summer move if he chooses, stating;

“I don’t know what Di Maria has decided. Until August 31 he will be here in principle. If from there he stays, or is no longer with us, we will think about it later.”

Such an attitude towards his future at the Spanish giants is sure to leave the former Benfica man considering his option, with the arrival of Colombian James Rodriguez sure to lead to a limited first team role for the Old Trafford target.

Di Maria is a player of real quality and will certainly provide van Gaal with a strong wide attacking option and a ‘Marquee’ signing of this magnitude would act as something of a statement of intent from the club following their atrocious campaign last term.

Angel di Maria put in Man of the Match display during last season’s Champions League Final and finished as Real Madrid’s leading assist maker in all competitions.

Man United are also closing in on another Argentine with Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo looking increasingly likely to complete an imminent move to the club.

The Premier League side will pay £16m for the 24 year old, who can play at left-back or in the centre of defence, and winger Nani may move in the opposite direction in a loan deal.
