Newcastle United have set their sights on Man City bit-part player Scott Sinclair according to The Sun.

The 25 year old is one of a number of players who could leave the Etihad Stadium before the transfer window slams shut and Magpies boss Alan Pardew is keen on landing the winger but will have to fork out a decent sum in order to do so.

Man City paid £5.5m to bring in the former England Under 21 international from Swansea City back in the summer of 2012 and will look to recoup as much of that outlay as possible.

A number of sides taken an interest in signing the player on a loan basis but Man City want to secure a permanent exit.

Sinclair spent last term on loan at West Brom but didn’t exactly set the world alight with his displays and a move away may be best for all concerned.

Man City have handed Sinclair just two Premier League starts during his two years at the club and a move to St James’ Park may help to resurrect his career.

Pellegrini is also looking to sell Swedish international John Guidetti and will seek £4.5m for the forward, with Feyenoord and Ajax both interested.
