Khedira snubs Real extension.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that midfielder Sami Khedira has rejected the offer of a new contract with the La Liga giants.

Khedira, who has just under 12 months left to run on his current deal, has been heavily linked with interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea this summer.

Although Khedira has turned down a new contract, Ancelotti insists that the German World Cup winner has not demanded a summer transfer.

However, teammate Angel Di Maria has asked to be allowed to move on.

“He has a contract [for another] year and has rejected the renewal,”Ancelotti told Marca. “It’s a situation different from Di Maria because he has not asked to leave.”

The UK bookmakers make Arsenal the favourites to sign Khedira this transfer window, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich also at fairly short odds.

Khedira joined Real from Stuttgart in August 2010.

During four seasons in Spain, the 27-year-old has won one La Liga title, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, one Supercopa de Espana and two Copa del Reys.

He has made 91 La Liga appearances, scoring six goals.

Khedira has been capped 51 times by Germany at senior international level, netting five times.

As well as winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup with his country, he picked up a medal for helping them to third place in 2010.
