The 29 year old has had an up and down time of it since moving to the Premier League two years ago and is said to be a player Arsenal are willing to sell, with Turkish side Besiktas also keen on acquiring the former Koln and Bayern Munich man.

Podolski started just 14 Premier League fixtures last term and though this was partially down to injury and fitness concerns he was also frequently left to warm the bench and the summer arrival of Alexis Sanchez could further limit his involvement in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven.

A move back to his native Germany may tempt Podolski and Wenger may well be ready to accept a fee in the region of the £11m Arsenal paid for the forward back in July 2012.
