The Serie A side have opened official talks with the German and the Gunners have pulled the 29 year old out of their squad to face Everton as a possible move edges closer.

A number of sides have expressed an interest in the World Cup winner, including German duo Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, but Juventus are the first side to make an official offer and a season long loan deal looks likely with a permanent switch to follow.

Podolski is something of a fan favourite but has struggled for consistency during his previous two campaigns with the north London side, racking up a decent if not spectacular tally of 19 goals in 53 Premier League appearances.

The arrival of Alexis Sanchez is likely to limit Podolski’s first team involvement and as such a move to join Serie A title holders Juventus may be appealing to the former Koln and Bayern Munich man.
