The England international may well be surplus to requirements under new Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal and a move to secure regular first team action could be best for all concerned.

Redknapp could well do with bringing in further summer signings having already made good use of the transfer window.

The former Tottenham and West Ham has already conducted one Man United raid in recent months, signing veteran Rio Ferdinand to boost his defence, and a second swoop seems plausible after the experienced manager stated;

“He’d be fabulous if they [United] were to loan him but that’s up to them, he belongs to Man United.

“If he did become available on loan I’m sure he’s a player a lot of clubs would be interested in.

“No [we haven’t made an enquiry]. If we thought he was available he’d certainly be of interest.”

Man United paid Crystal Palace £15m for the 21 year old attacker in January 2013 before loaning the player back to the Eagles for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign.

Last term former boss David Moyes barely used Zaha before loaning him to doomed Cardiff City, who suffered relegation to the Championship.

A return to London could well interest Zaha given that a season warming the bench appears likely should he remain at Man United.
