The Spanish international forward struggled in his debut season at White Hart Lane and hasn’t come close to justifying his £26m fee and may well be a player boss Mauricio Pochettino considers offer for.

The 29 year old scored six goals in 28 Premier League appearances last season though four of those were from the penalty spot and if a decent offer is made then Soldado may well be offloaded.

Soldado scored in Tottenham’s Europa League victory over AEL Limassol but didn’t start the club’s opening Premier League fixture against West Ham.

Pochettino may well be considering his options with regards to a number of his expansive Spurs squad though it appears that Argentine Erik Lamela will play a part in the former Southampton manager’s plans, with the former AS Roma man figuring in Tottenham’s starting eleven against West Ham.

Soldado proved a big success in La Liga, scoring 81 goals in three seasons at Valencia prior to his move to north London.
