Crystal Palace have been linked with a move to bring in Italian Roberto Mancini to fill their vacant managerial position according to TuttoMercato.

The South London side parted company with Tony Pulis just before the new season got underway and had been set to appoint Malky Mackay as a permanent replacement before revelations of his shocking behaviour at Cardiff City ended their interest and now chairman Steve Parish is urgently looking to bring in a boss who can steer the Selhurst Park ship.

A move for 49 year old Mancini could be considered as a fairly ambitious option to consider though the former Man City boss may be ready for a Premier League return.

The former Italian international striker left Galatasaray in June after a poor spell in Turkey but has won a host of honours.

Mancini won three Serie A titles with Inter Milan and the Premier League with Man City as well as an FA Cup triumph.
