Colombian international Radamel Falcao has insisted that he wants to remain with AS Monaco despite rumours linking him with a move away from the Stade Louis, Goal.com reports.

Liverpool, AC Milan and Juventus are thought to be keen on signing the prolific striker who moved to Monaco from Atletico Madrid in a big money transfer last summer.

Despite rumours suggesting he wants to leave Monaco, Falcao stated his desire to remain with the Lique 1 side after scoring the only goal in Monaco’s victory over rivals Nantes last night.

“I’m happy here and I hope to stay,” the 28-year-old told Canal+.

Falcao’s appearance against Nantes was his first start in a Monaco shirt since he suffered knee ligament damage in January.

Monaco threated to become another European super power last summer when they spent over 100 million euros on signing Falcao, James Rodriguez and Jose Moutinho. However, their attempts to break into Europe’s elite have been somewhat scuppered this summer with the departure of Rodriguez to Real Madrid.

With Rodriguez departing, the principality club are now desperate to hold onto Falcao and hope he will return to the form that he showed at Atletico Madrid two seasons ago.
