AC Milan have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Chelsea youngster Marco van Ginkel on a season long loan deal according to the Daily Star.

The 21 year old Dutchman missed most of last season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury picked up in a Capital One Cup tie last September and will struggle to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s first team set-up in 2014/15.

The Serie A side have seen their offer to bring in the Dutch international though the young Blues star is yet to decide on the switch.

Mourinho is thought to rate the former Vitesse Arnhem man very highly though the arrivals of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in the past two transfer windows will make it next to impossible for van Ginkel to break into the Chelsea starting eleven.

One would imagine that ideally Mourinho would like to loan the talented midfielder to a Premier League side in order to boost his experience in the English top tier, but a move to AC Milan may suffice.

AC Milan are also pursuing Chelsea flop Fernando Torres as they look to replace Mario Balotelli following his move to Liverpool.
