Arsenal Flop Emmanuel Frimpong Shockingly Turns Down Chance To Work Gennaro Gattusso

The uncontracted Ghana midfielder is still without a club…

It looks more and more likely that Emmanuel Frimpong’s career will fade into obscurity…

The 22-year-old midfielder, who was released by Barnsley after a shocking sixth month stint at the end of last season, has turned down the chance to work with Italian football legend Gennaro Gattuso, reports the Daily Mail.

Gattuso, the former AC Milan midfielder, currently manages OFI Crete, who offered Frimpong a 12-month deal to revive his career.

Despite the fact that Frimpong is unattached, having failed to agree a deal with Austrian side Sturm Graz either, he rejected the advances of the Greek club.

A deal would seem to have made perfect sense for Frimpong, considering the fact that Gattuso, during his prime, was probably one of the most revered defensive midfielders on the planet.

During his teenage years, Frimpong was rated in the same bracket as Jack Wilshere, but he failed to establish himself in the Arsenal first-team unlike his close friend, and is slowly drifting down football’s ladder.
