Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that players could be set to leave Anfield in the coming days, report the Mirror, as we move ever closer to transfer deadline day.

Rodgers is reported to have suggested that it is unlikely that there will be any incoming movement at Anfield following the arrival of striker Mario Balotelli from AC Milan, but departures from the club could well materialise before the window slams shut on Monday:

“There’ll probably be more movement out than coming in, I would say.”

“We’ve still got offers for players to go. Every player here knows their situation, so if they’re here after that deadline on Monday then they’ve decided to stay but their game time will be very limited.”

The report suggests that Lucas Leiva, Daniel Agger and Fabio Borini could all be set for a departure, with all three expected to be on the fringes of Rodgers’ first team during the coming campaign.

Italian forward Borini has been linked with a permanent move to Sunderland for much of the summer, having spent a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season, but the former AS Roma star is believed to be more interested in another loan move to Wearside.

Lucas, meanwhile, has been attracting the attention of former manager Rafa Benitez at Napoli, but the Serie A side were dealt a blow after losing their Champions League qualifier to Athletic Bilbao, whilst centre back Daniel Agger is believed to have concerns over a lack of game time.
