Old Trafford star completes German return.
Borussia Dortmund have officially re-signed Man United playmaker Shinji Kagawa.
The 25 year old moved to Old Trafford two years ago but failed to hit the heights he reached at Westfalenstadion and it’s no surprise that Louis van Gaal has looked to offload the attacker as part of an ongoing squad re-shuffle.
Kagawa had a fairly average debut campaign at Man United and last term proved even more ineffective with the Kobe born star failing to score in 30 appearances in all competitions.
Prior to his move to the Premier League Kagawa had played a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s side as they secured back to back Bundesliga titles and will hope to recapture that form back in the German top tier.
The January capture of Juan Mata, the emergence of youngster Adnan Januzaj and the summer signing of Angel di Maria had effectively signaled the end of Kagawa’s fairly brief, and relatively lifeless, spell at Man United.
