Liverpool are set to complete their tenth signing of the summer with Argentine international keeper Sergio Romero likely to complete his move to Anfield according to the Metro.

The 27 year old custodian’s agent is in England to finalise the move with a £1.6m fee agreed between Liverpool and Sampdoria though up until now wage demands have held up the progress of the deal.

Agent Mino Raiola, who also represents new Liverpool signing Mario Balotelli, will look to thrash out a deal with the Premier League side though Russian side Spartak Moscow are also said to be keen.

Romero played a key role in helping Argentina to the World Cup final this summer and is seen by boss Brendan Rodgers as the man to keep Belgian Simon Mignolet on his toes and to fight for the starting spot at the Merseyside outfit.

Rodgers has already brought in a host of players this summer, making good use of funds accrued from the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, with Southampton trio Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert joined by Lazar Markovic, Emre Can, Divock Origi, Alberto Moreno and Mario Balotelli with young Atletico Madrid full-back Javier Manquillo moving to Liverpool on a loan deal.
