One of the Germany coaches, Olivier Bierhoff, has claimed that while the 25-year-old will miss the friendly against Argentina, he could be in contention to start against Scotland in the opening match of the Euro 2016 qualification group.
“There’s work being done so he can play against Scotland,” said Bierhoff.
Ozil has started the season quietly with Arsenal, but his manager Arsene Wenger will still be desperate to keep him fit, with first-team regular Olivier Giroud out until 2015, and Theo Walcott still suffering with a hamstring problem.
