Man City forward Alvaro Negredo is reportedly set to join Valencia on a loan deal according to the Metro.

The 28 year old netted 23 goals in all competitions last term though did suffer a lengthy goal drought towards the season’s end and is now behind Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic in Manuel Pellegrini’s pecking order.

Negredo will move back to La Liga on a season long loan deal with Valencia then having the option to fork out £20m to make the move permanent.

Man City paid £16.4m to bring in Negredo from Sevilla last July and the Spanish international is close to recovering from a broken metatarsal injury.

Pellegrini had initially only sanctioned the move on the basis that Radamel Falcao would be moving to the Etihad Stadium, though the AS Monaco man is now said to be on his way to Man United instead, though now it seems Negredo will still be moving back to the Spanish top tier.
