Hull City have had a particularly busy transfer deadline day, having already broken their transfer record to sign striker Abel Hernandez from Palermo, the Tigers have now pushed through a last gasp deal to sign winger Hatem Ben Arfa on a season-long loan deal from Newcastle United.

Ben Arfa had fallen hugely out of favour at St. James’ Park after a very public falling out with manager Alan Pardew and has looked destined to leave, despite reportedly being keen to remain at a club where he continues to enjoy a good relationship with the supporters.

The tricky wide man was initially a huge success with the Magpies after signing from French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille, but his influence on the side waned during last season.

He will be looking to revive his career during a season with Hull, who are looking to bounce back from an awful week that saw them dumped out of their maiden Europa League campaign by KSC Lokeren and also lose a tight game at Aston Villa in the Premier League.

He becomes the Tigers’ third signing of the day, following striker Hernandez and Southampton winger Gaston Ramirez into the KC Stadium, with the Uruguayan also signing on loan.
