Man United have officially completed the signing of AS Monaco forward Radamel Falcao on a season long loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

The 28 year old Colombian arrives to boost Louis van Gaal’s attack, perhaps in light of Robin Van Persie’s ongoing injury concerns, and is a player very capable of making a big impact in the Premier League.

The Old Trafford side have beaten off advances from Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal and Man City to capture the feared finisher, who cost AS Monaco £50m last May.

Falcao has scored 11 goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances with the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid man continuing to thrive in Europe.

Spells in the Lisbon and Madrid saw Falcao scored an astonishing 142 goals in four seasons and the powerful attacker certainly has the physical presence to replicate that form in the Premier League.

Falcao follows Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, midfielder Ander Herrera, and forward Angel Di Maria and becomes Man United’s fifth high-profile summer signing.
