The Reds striker was close to finalising a transfer away from the Anfield based outfit on deadline day after Liverpool accepted an initial £10m bid from Queens Park Rangersfor the 23-year-old’s services.
But the move failed to materialise, apparently due to the striker’s wage demands. Borini also ejected a return to Sunderland, where he spent last season on loan, and he took to Twitter to let everyone know that he was the one that called off the potential deals.

Why Borini decided to stay at Liverpool where he most likely won;t feature very frequently is anyone’s guess, but Borini has favourited several tweets from Sunderland fans claiming that he chose to prioritise money over football.
He will now slug it out with Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert for a place in Brendan Riodgers’ starting line up.
