Tom Cleverley has had his loan move from Manchester United to Aston Villa approved despite the fact the transfer window closed at 11pm on Monday, according to respected journalist Mark Ogden.

Villa can complete a £7.5m deal for Cleverley in January if the player impresses.

Cleverley was strongly linked with a permanent switch to Villa, but the player and the club disagreed over personal terms, whilst Everton were also thought to be interested yet wouldn’t pay United’s asking price.
The 25-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after failing to impress new manager Louis van Gaal and is a relatively unpopular figure among the fans as well.
Villa have the option to make the deal for Cleverley permanent in January by paying a £7.5m fee and it looks as if the Englishman’s time as a Red Devils player has officially come to an end.
