Chelsea are keen to tie down Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois to a new contract according to the Daily Mail.

The 22 year old custodian has been ushered into the Blues first team set-up after three successful campaigns at Atletico Madrid and has dislodged long term first choice keeper Petr Cech and impressed in his opening Premier League outings.

Courtois has two years to run on his current contract but Jose Mourinho is keen to secure the former Racing Genk to a new five year deal which will see his wages increase from his current £30k a week salary.

Czech Republic international Cech turned down the chance of a summer Stamford Bridge exit and will look to fight Courtois for a starting spot at the west London club.

Adaptable full-back Cesar Azpilicueta has penned a new five year deal after a year of strong form shown by the Spaniard, who has been a hugely dependable figure in a makeshift left-back role over the past 18 months.
