England will play their first match since the 2014 World Cup when they take on Norway in this international friendly at Wembley Stadium.

It will be a chance for both nations to get some match practice in ahead of the start of their respective Euro 2016 qualifying campaigns, which begin on Monday.

Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson has already announced his starting XI for the match, with the biggest surprise being Everton youngster John Stones’ inclusion at right-back.

Toffees captain Phil Jagielka misses out as Manchester United’s Phil Jones takes his place in central defence, whilst new £16m Arsenal signing Danny Welbeck is also absent after picking up an ankle injury in training.

Both West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster and uncapped Jack Colback of Newcastle United are out with fitness problems as well, whilst Calum Chambers and Fabian Delph will start from the bench hoping to earn their first cap at some point in the game.

Norwegian defender Vegard Forren has already tried to stir things up by announcing that newly appointed skipper Wayne Rooney looks ‘a bit chubby’ and the Red Devils forward will have been given an extra incentive to impress.

It’s also predicted to be a record low turnout for an international fixture at Wembley with an attendance of between 35,000 and 40,000 expected.
