Inter Milan are set to offer £10m for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, a bid the Daily Express claims the Anfield side are likely to accept.

The 23 year old Italian international has attracted a fair bit of criticism for turning down January moves to QPR and Sunderland but may well be more amenable to a move to the San Siro.

Borini finds himself behind Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert in Liverpool’s striking pecking order and is unlikely to see much in the way of Premier League action this season.

The Serie A side wanted to bring in Borini in the summer transfer window but didn’t have the requisite funds to do so though will look to cash-in on Fredy Guarin or Zdravko Kuzmanovic in January to help cover the cost of a move for the former AS Roma man.

Borini’s first season on Merseyside was something of a damp squib, the £10.5m signing scoring just two goals in 20 appearances, before enjoying a more successful spell at Sunderland last season when he helped the Black Cats complete a miraculous ‘great escape’ from relegation, netting ten goals in all competitions.
