Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder claims he was mis-treated during his final days at Inter Milan.

The Dutchman was one of the stars of Jose Mourinho’s treble winning side during the 2009-10 season but he fell out with the hierarchy at Inter once the Portuguese left the club.

Sneijder joined Galatasaray in January 2013 following several months of heated arguments between himself and members of the board at Inter. Unsurprisingly, the midfielder felt that he should have been treated better by members of the Italian giants board.

“I’ve been thinking about my time at Inter and I realised that the team that won the treble has been dissolved within a matter of seasons,” the Netherlands international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Inter did not treat me well, but that was the work certain directors. I love Inter and I want them to do well, also for the fans. I really do hope that Inter can win the Scudetto.

“Juventus have won a lot in Italy and Roma are on the rise. The teams from Milan had gotten used to success, but things are a bit difficult for them now.”

Although Sneijder chose to criticise some members of the Inter hierarchy, he had nothing but praise for his former boss Mourinho, who is now at Chelsea.

The Dutchman has an excellent relationship with the former Inter boss and wouldn’t rule out a move to Chelsea just to link up with him again.

“Mourinho is the number one. There is no one like him,” he added.

“I’d never say never to Chelsea, but fact is that I am very happy in Turkey.”
