Brazilian legend Ronaldinho could finally be coming to England, but not to any of the clubs you maybe thinking of.

According to the Metro, the former world player of the year could be moving to non-league Basingstoke Town, who currently play in the Conference South.

The Barcelona legend is currently available on a free transfer having left Atletico Mineiro at the the beginning of the summer.

Basingstoke, who are sponsored by Sky’s Soccer AM, feel they have a real chance of landing the former Brazilian international and have reportedly got in contact the 34-year-old’s agent and brother Roberto De Amiss.

“Discussions have been had, and there is an offer on the table. Now it is up to Ronaldinho to decide whether he wants to take us up on it,” Dragons’ marketing director Simon Hood told the Basingstoke Gazette.

“He is on a free transfer and if he wants to get into English football, I cannot think of a better way to do that than by signing for Basingstoke Town.”

It isn’t the first time that Ronaldinho has been linked with a move to England. Before he completed his transfer to Barcelona in 2003, the Brazilian legend was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

More recently, the attacker was linked with a move to Stoke City.
