Various Premier League giants are set to fight it out for the signature of the superbly talented young Belgian winger Zakaria Bakkali, reports the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old shot to prominence last season by scoring a hat-trick on the opening day of the season, but it appears his time in Holland is drawing to its close…

Bakkali has rejected terms of a new contract offered to him by PSV, and as his current deal expires in just twelve months time, teams will be able to freely approach him come the turn of the new year due to the Bosman ruling.

As a result of the chance to sign Bakali so cheaply, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea could do battle for the wingers services.

PSV brand manager Marcel Brands is disappointed at the prospect of losing the wonderkid.

“Of course it’s bad for the club,” he said.

“But I think it’s actually worse for the player himself. It is a shame that a young player with talent does not choose the right path.

“People might think I am naive but I don’t blame the guy or his father.

‘The problem is that Zakaria is getting influenced by everything and everyone around him.”

Bakkali is extremely quick, and prefers to start on the left from where he can cut in and shoot on his powerful right. He can beat a man either on the outside or the inside, although naturally, his decision making is fairly unrefined due to his young age.
