Jonny Evans discusses United’s big name arrivals.

Manchester United centre back Jonny Evans has discussed the buzz in the squad now that big name transfer deadline day arrivals Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao have arrived, report the Express, as the Red Devils look to recover from a stuttering start to the season that has seen them fail to record a win in their four matches so far.

Evans, who himself is looking to return to form after an injury hit 2013/14 campaign, suggested that the new arrivals were the talk of the United squad during training at Carrington:

“All the lads were talking about it when we got back into training, particularly the fact that we’d signed Falcao and Daley Blind, while Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley had gone.”

Both players are in line to make their debuts when United face newly promoted Queens Park Rangers following the international break next week, although Falcao will have to force his way past either captain Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie, who was manager Louis van Gaal’s skipper during his time in charge of the Netherlands.

It is expected that the Colombian will become one of the first names on the teamsheet for United, however, with the club really having pushed the boat out to secure his services on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco.

Whether Evans will also be a key player is slightly more open to question, although he is one of the club’s senior central defenders after Marcos Rojo became the only summer arrival at the back for van Gaal.
