James McClean is out of the Republic of Ireland’s opening Euro 2016 qualifier in Georgia on Sunday amidst concerns about his match fitness.
The Wigan star has still not recovered fully from an ankle injury and boss Martin O’Neil has sought to rule him out of the clash completely.
Goalkeeper Shay Given is set to reprise his role as first choice goalkeeper following his reinstatement against Oman during the week.
Thursday’s goalscorer Kevin Doyle is also likely to remain in the squad after scoring one of his side’s goals and will partner Robbie Keane in attack.
