The Colombian striker came to Old Trafford on the final day of the transfer window, joining the 20 time league champions from Monaco on a season long loan.

The striker recently recovered from a knee injury that kept him out of the World Cup. He came on as a late substitute in Colombia’s friendly against Brazil and admitted after the game that he was nervous turning out for national team because of it and will be equally nervous when he plays his first game for Manchester United.

“Because of the injury I felt so nervous, almost like it was my first time with the national team,” Falcao is quoted by several newspapers as saying following his brief run-out against Brazil. “And I expect it will be the same before I play my first game for Manchester United.

“I’m so happy to be back, and I am also happy about being able to join United.

“Physically, I feel spectacular. I have been able to play without any kind of trouble.

“I am very excited about playing for Manchester United and I hope to score a lot of goals for them. That is something I have done everywhere I have played”.

Falcao could make his United debut in next weekend’s Premier League game against QPR at Old Trafford. He will face competition for a strikers slot in the Red Devils first team with the likes of Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney being regulars in the United starting eleven.
