Liverpool and Manchester United are preparing offers for Dani Alves…
Barcelona defender Dani Alves could be offered the choice between Liverpool and Manchester United when his contract with the Spanish giants expires at the end of the season.
Reports in the Daily Express are suggesting that both Louis Van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers are ready to lure the wing-back to the Premier League on a short-term deal for the 2015/2016 season, although Paris St-Germain and Inter Milan are also planning on making moves.
Both manager Luis Enrique and Alves himself have already suggested that the Brazilian is unlikely to extend his seven year stay at the Camp Nou, with a return to his home country also a possibility.
However, the 31-year-old may consider that he has one last ‘big club’ in him before he returns to Brazil for a pre-retirement bonus. The former Sevilla star will be free to talk with new teams from January, and the Premier League duo could decide to make their move.
Alves’ place in Barcelona’s starting XI is under threat from Martin Montoya and new signing Douglas, who joined the La Liga outfit from Sao Paulo for around £4.5m, but a move this summer failed to materialise.
