Liverpool are set to reward striker Daniel Sturridge with a new contract that will see the England international’s wage double according to the Metro.

The 25 year old has been a massive success since his £12m move from Man City to Anfield back in January 2013 and is now the club’s chief goal-scoring option following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Sturridge will see his salary rise to a bumper £140k a week, a deal that the prolific striker certainly deserves after a strong opening 18 months on Merseyside.

Having failed to convince Chelsea and then Man City of his value the Birmingham born forward moved to Liverpool and garnered the regular first team action he richly deserved and hasn’t looked back.
Sturridge has racked up 36 goals in 52 appearances for Liverpool and is now a regular in Roy Hodgson’s England set-up.
