The Gunners have poached Barca for their best young talent before, with Cesc Fabregas notably going on to become a star player for the north London giants after deciding to move to Highbury at the age of just 15.

Other less successful players have also made the switch, but Arsenal are ready to move for two more emerging youngsters from the Catalan giants, with Samper and Munir impressing Arsene Wenger with their recent performances.

Samper, a deep-lying midfield playmaker, has been compared with Fabregas, while Munir, a striker, has recently made an impressive breakthrough for the Barcelona first-team under new manager Luis Enrique, as well as earning a senior call-up to the Spanish national side.

Arsenal and Barcelona also did some transfer business involving more senior players this summer, with Thomas Vermaelen moving to the Nou Camp from the Emirates Stadium, while Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez made the £35m move to the Premier League.

Barca value their academy products highly, however, and it remains to be seen if they will be willing to do business for Samper or Munir anytime soon.
